2019 FALL DAY RETREAT
SATURDAY OCTOBER 26 • 8:30 AM – 8:00 PM • HARTMAN CENTER
Step away from the demands of grad school and join us for a day to refresh, to connect deeply with God and others, and to be encouraged and challenged in your walk with God.
We’ll also spend a good portion of the day spending time with one another relaxing and playing. Or if you prefer to stay indoors, we’ll have Scrabble, Settlers of Cataan, Killer Uno, and lot’s of other fun games to play.
And, of course, there will be yummy food! Light breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.
All that to say, it’s a great day to be refreshed, challenged in your walk with God, and better connected with others in PSCG. We hope you can join us!
MEET OUR SPEAKER: AARON HENNING
Rev. Aaron Henning is the Lead Pastor at State College Alliance Church. He joined the church’s staff in 2001 and served with the church’s campus ministry, Alliance Christian Fellowship (ACF) until 2012 when he transitioned into his current role. Aaron is married to Amy, his best friend and ministry partner, and they are the happy parents of Grant and Max. In Aaron’s down time, he enjoys the woods and the water, playing music, and reading good books. The Henning’s can be found hiking on a day off, kayaking at a local park, playing basketball with the boys, and monitoring the safety of garage inventions and experiments.
RETREAT REGISTRATION FEE
The registration fee for the retreat helps us cover all of the expenses of the retreat and ensures that we are able to host the retreat each and every year. You can pay the fee at the day of the retreat in cash or with a check made payable to “Cru”.
For singles, the cost is $30. • For couples, the cost is $50
Please do not let the cost of the retreat keep you from coming. If needed, we have scholarship funds available to help. For more information and to request a scholarship, please email Jade Sandbulte at email@example.com.
GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER ACTIVITY
As an active way of getting to know each other, please bring an item that answers the question “What do you treasure?” It can be a book, a picture, a special item, or anything else that you can think of! Throughout the day, each person will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and tell us why they chose to bring that object.
Please only bring something that you feel safe bringing to a camp. While people will be in the room all day and will likely have your object in sight, we would hate for you to lose something that you value very deeply and want you to have peace of mind during the day.
If there are any questions, please contact Jade Sandbulte at firstname.lastname@example.org. Looking forward to getting to know you better!
WHAT TO BRING TO THE RETREAT
Bible, journal, and pen • Board games and/or cards to play • Soccer ball, football, frisbee, etc. • A jacket and walking shoes for an optional easy hike. • The object that tells us something about you (see above for more info) • A check made payable to “Cru” to cover the registration fee 🙂 ($30 for singles, $50 for couples)
